Forest Environmental Monitoring Brandenburg

The “Forest Environmental Monitoring Brandenburg” platform makes the results of forest environmental monitoring in the state of Brandenburg publicly accessible: the condition, health and vitality of the forest.

From the forest condition survey, soil condition survey and state forest inventory to long-term monitoring at the ICP Forests Level II sites, long-term measurements are processed and visualised. Climatic analyses and drought stress evaluations show how the forest is doing.

All data is available for your own use via an open API. A service of the State Forestry Agency Brandenburg, developed for the Forestry Competence Centre Eberswalde (LFE).

The feasibility study, commissioned by the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg, shows opportunities to adapt communication in the forest to data-supported forestry.

FoVis enables access to stand data, position data of carriers and colleagues at any time; without having to pick up a mobile phone. It is also possible to collect data without having to stand still. Sensors can detect falls and knocks and make emergency calls....

GNSS Navigate and Save - QGIS-Plugin

This QGIS plugin allows you to display your current position (using an internal or external GPS device) on the map. For selected target points, the distance is displayed in kilometres, metres and centimetres, and angles in either degrees, gons or radians. The air line between your current position and the destination point is visualised on the map. Once the target position has been reached, points can be measured. For this purpose, data is collected until the desired quality is achieved. In the settings of the plug-in, requirements for the accuracy of the position determination can be defined. When the quality is achieved, the data can be saved in a GeoPackage. A layer is created for this purpose. The data can then be further processed in QGIS or other applications.
